Stanley's is no stranger to accolades for its fare. Stanley's Famous Pit Barbecue has been named
"One of the 50 best BBQ joints in Texas" by Texas Monthly Magazine.
They also received the people's choice award for ''Best Pork Ribs'' at the Texas Monthly BBQ festival in 2010 and 2011.
In 2013, Stanley's was included in the debut title in the Anthony Bourdain Books line, ''The Prophets of Smoked Meat''.
This book is touted as a guide to all things Texas barbecue written by "Barbecue Snob" Daniel Vaughn,
author of the enormously popular blog Full Custom Gospel
BBQ and Texas Monthly BBQ editor. The iconic restaurant helped put Tyler on the map in 2012, when the city was listed in Livability.com's ''10 best cities for BBQ.'' Stanley's was also spotlighted in Food & Wine Magazine's ''Best BBQ Cities'' feature, as well as on Yahoo Travel last year.
Locally, Stanley's was named a Locals Love Us winner in the last three years; voted Best BBQ in East Texas by BScene Magazine readers multiple years; voted Best BBQ in Northeast Texas by Countyline Magazine readers; and received a 2008 Reader's Choice Award from the Tyler Morning
Telegraph. Additionally, TX Monthly BBQ named Stanley's "Mother Clucker" chicken sandwich the "BEST BBQ SANDWICH IN TEXAS" in 2014 as well as Stanley's picking up the SBA's "Small Business Person of the Year 2014" in the DFW district covering 72 Texas counties! Stanley's was also invited to participate in a Texas Monthly "Pop-Up Joint" in New York City with legendary Texas Pitmasters Kent Black & Wayne Mueller to promote Texas BBQ in the Big Apple.
