Swing for HOPE charity golf & bingo tournament

Hope Haven of East Texas is hosting our second annual “Swing for HOPE” golf tournament October 10, 2022, at Hollytree Country Club in Tyler. We are a federal 501(c)3 organization that provides a home for girls in the Texas foster care system. It is the mission of Hope Haven of East Texas through partnerships with families, churches, and the community, to provide a safe home environment, minister the love of Christ, and equip neglected and abused girls in foster care, preparing them for healthy adult living. Hope Haven offers three programs. Our group residential campus is for up to sixteen girls ages 13-17 and is a home-like environment where they can receive therapeutic care such as equine therapy, archery, drivers’ education, job skills, the ability to catch up on high school credits to graduate; and gain the coping skills they need to heal from their trauma. Our Independent Living campus offers room and board for up to four young ladies who have aged out of traditional foster care and have opted to extend their care until they turn 22. This program teaches life skills, time management, budgeting, and educational support so that the young ladies have a better chance at a healthy adult transition. Our Emergency Shelter program offers a temporary home for girls ages 5-17 who have recently entered foster care and are awaiting a more permanent placement with a foster family or relative. Our goal is to open a Child Placement Agency in 2023 to offer a continuum of services to girls in foster care by having trauma informed, trained and ready therapeutic foster families for them to live with. It is our passion to provide after-care and support to allow for the best possible outcomes for the girls and our community. Foster care in Texas is going through many changes. We desire to move forward in preparation of those changes to provide for the physical, emotional, educational, and spiritual needs of the girls in a loving, nurturing environment that will promote their understanding that they are safe, precious, and have a voice. There is such a great need for these services, and we are passionate about providing the best possible care to girls from hard places.
