Out of the Darkness Tyler Walk

The Out of the Darkness Community Walk is a journey of remembrance and a walk that unites a community – a time to acknowledge the ways in which suicide and mental illness have affected our community When you walk in the Out of the Darkness Walks, you join the effort with hundreds of thousands of people to raise awareness and funds that allow the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) to invest in new research, create educational programs, advocate for public policy, and support survivors of suicide loss. Registration begins at 9:00 am and the Bead Ceremony will begin at 10:00 am followed by the walk. Make sure to arrive early to allow time to explore the resources area. Resources hosted by local businesses and non-profit organizations will open at 9:00 am. This will be an opportunity to gather literature, hear about upcoming events, and connect with others who are dedicated to raising awareness of mental illness and suicide, strengthening prevention efforts, and providing support to those impacted by suicide loss. We will have food trucks, face painting, photobooth and a DJ on hand so bring the team and make lasting memories. Register for the event as an individual or create a TEAM with friends and family to honor those we have lost and celebrate those who are still with us. Set up a fundraising page and raise money for AFSP- receive prizes for different incentive levels. If you fundraise a minimum of $150, you’ll receive an event t-shirt. HELP SPREAD THE WORD!
