Relief sculpture is a great way to explore the world of 3D for both beginners and 2D artist. You will create a three-dimensional relief sculpture through the casting process. Working with clay you will make a negative mold by cutting, scraping, pressing objects and fingers into soft clay. After creating the negative, we will pour plaster filling all the lines and shapes to create a positive relief. Come with ideas of landscapes or portraits you can abstract or just come with an open mind. You will go home with a new skill and a sculpture to hang on your wall, set on a stand or give as a gift. Supplies: Bring anything items you desire to cut, scrape, or press into the clay. For example, forks, spoons, bolts, dolls, plastic vegetables, sticks and nuts, etc. All different sizes. (Consider the value of the objects and if they will be damaged by washing.) You must register to attend.
