DESCRIPTION:The City of Tyler Parks and Recreation Department is hosting a grand opening at Pollard Park to bring the community together to celebrate updates to the park! The event will be on Saturday\, Dec. 9 at noon. The new and improved features at Pollard Park include:   New basketball courts   Renovated tennis court and dedicated pickleball courts   New playground and inclusive playground features   Sidewalk connections throughout the park   New benches and picnic tables   New fenced dog area   Practice field and football field   Renovated restrooms and new art mural   Renovated parking lot Pollard Park is located at 710 E. Amherst Dr. Funding for the Pollard Park renovation was provided by the Keep Tyler Beautiful Park Capital Improvements fund through revenue from the Landfill Access Fee. A grant was received by the National Environmental Education Foundation (NEEF) 2022 Driving Mobility and Accessibility on Public Lands program\, made possible through funding from Toyota Motor North America\, for use toward the purchase of a piece of inclusive playground equipment.
